This Privacy Policy explains how greetinghard.com (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit greetinghard.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information collected automatically. The Site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages visited, time on site, approximate location (country or city), browser and device type, operating system, referring website, and similar usage data. This is collected via cookies and similar technologies. Our website platform and hosting providers may also automatically log technical information such as IP addresses and browser details for security and operation of the Site.
Information you provide. When you use the card maker, you may enter text, choose icons, or provide information that is turned into a QR code or PDF file. If the blog allows comments or other submissions, we may store what you submit, such as a name and comment. If future features are added, we may collect additional information you choose to provide, and this policy will be updated accordingly.
Local storage. Some features may store data (such as settings or card contents) in your browser’s cookies or local storage. This data stays on your device unless it is submitted to the Site.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we ask that you not enter any into the card maker or any other feature.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to: operate and maintain the Site; generate cards, QR codes and PDF files; display blog content and any submitted comments; understand site traffic and improve the Site; detect and prevent abuse, spam or security issues; and comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal Basis (UK/EU Visitors)
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we process information based on: your consent (for analytics cookies, where required); our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Site; and, where applicable, compliance with legal obligations.
4. Cookies and Analytics
Google Analytics uses cookies to collect usage data. Google’s use of this data is governed by its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), by rejecting analytics cookies where a consent option is shown, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. The Site will still work if you block cookies, though some features may not.
5. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be shared only: with service providers that help run the Site (such as Google Analytics, website platform and hosting providers); when required by law, subpoena or legal process; to protect our rights, the Site, or the safety of others; or in connection with a transfer of the Site to another owner. Any blog comments you submit may be publicly visible. Cards, QR codes and files you create are shared only by you, and you are responsible for who you share them with.
6. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above. Google Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings configured for the Site and Google’s policies. Card text and generated files are not intended to be stored long-term, and any submitted content may be kept or deleted at any time at our discretion.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no website, transmission or storage system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the security of any information, and you provide information at your own risk.
8. Your Choices
The Site does not offer user accounts or a contact channel. You control what information the Site receives: you can opt out of Google Analytics as described in Section 4, block cookies in your browser, clear your browser’s cookies and local storage at any time, and choose what text, if any, to enter into the card maker or submit elsewhere on the Site. Submitted content may be removed at any time at our discretion. UK and EU residents have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
9. International Visitors
The Site is operated from the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your own.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Children under 13 should not submit names, comments or other personal information to any feature of the Site.
11. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to other websites, and QR codes created with the Site may point to any website a user chooses. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites; please review their policies.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes take effect when posted, and the “Last updated” date will reflect them. Continued use of the Site means you accept the updated policy.
