Invoice Builder FAQ
Is the Invoice Builder really free?
Yes. The Invoice Builder is completely free, with no account, no subscription, no invoice limit and no watermark on your invoices.
Is my invoice information stored anywhere?
No. Everything you type, including your logo, stays in your browser and is never uploaded to or stored on our server. Closing or refreshing the page clears your invoice, so download your PDF first. To reuse your details later, click Save Invoice File to keep a .json copy on your own device, then use Import Invoice to reopen it.
How do I save my invoice as a PDF?
Click Download PDF. When the print window opens, choose Save as PDF as the destination and click Save. For the cleanest result, turn off Headers and footers in the print settings.
What should an invoice include?
A professional invoice includes your business name and contact details, the client's details, a unique invoice number, the issue date and due date, a list of products or services with quantities and prices, any tax or discounts, the total amount due, and how to pay.
How do I number my invoices?
Give every invoice a unique number in order, such as INV-0001, INV-0002 and so on. After you finish an invoice, click New Invoice to keep your business details and move to the next number automatically.
Can I add sales tax, VAT or GST?
Yes. Enter your tax rate as a percentage and rename the tax line to match, such as Sales Tax, VAT or GST. Tax rules vary by location, so check with a tax professional if you are unsure what to charge.
Can I use a different currency?
Yes. Choose from more than 20 currencies, including US dollars, euros, British pounds, Canadian and Australian dollars, Japanese yen and Indian rupees. All amounts update automatically.
Can I make a quote or estimate instead?
Yes. Change the document type to Quote, Estimate or Receipt. The title and labels on the document update to match.
